Former talk show host Ricki Lake was inspired to produce this compelling exposé after a dissatisfying birthing experience with her first child left her with many unanswered questions. 2007 84 minutes

I saw this recently (July 2008) and agree it is an extraordinary documentary. It should be viewed by all medical students, ObGyns, nurses and future parents. The rumors about midwives that circulate in medical circles are clearly false. Like so much else in medicine the bottom line determines "care."
